Transport around Southampton Airport (SOU)
Southampton Airport (SOU) is very well-connected to the city centre and to destinations farther afield, such as Bournemouth, Portsmouth, and London. You can get to town by train, bus or taxi. There is a useful train station right outside the airport which has services into town and to London. Buses offer a cheap, yet quick option to Southampton city centre and taxis are on hand 24 hours.

Rail:
the Southampton Airport Parkway Rail Station is just 100m in front of the airport terminal and connects with the city centre at Southampton Central in three stops. There are also direct, high-speed services to London Waterloo from the airport three times an hour (going in the other direction).
Bus:
bus number 101 is the cheapest option for getting to and from Southampton Airport. It runs from the airport to the city centre and on to Southampton University throughout the day. There are also private shuttle services as well as National Express coaches to other cities in the region.

Car:
Southampton Airport has excellent road access, with the M27 motorway going past within a mile. Although you won't need the motorway to get to the city centre, the M27 links up with the M3 for London, northeast. Go west or east on the M27 for Bournemouth and Portsmouth respectively. To get to Southampton, simply come out of the airport, go left, and take the A335 southwest for four miles.
